Agency History

Transfer Title Agency (TTA) was formed in 1967 by the partners in the law firm of Skidmore & Hall, L. Thomas Skidmore and Ronald H. Hall. In 1983, management of TTA was transferred to Lee Skidmore, now president of the company. Lee Skidmore and Rob Skidmore continue to own and manage the company.  TTA has a longstanding relationship with the Chicago Title and Trust Family of Title Insurers. TTA is also a policy issuing agent for Old Republic Title Insurance. The CTIC family and Old Republic Title provides the necessary financial strength and security that combines with MCTA’s exceptional service to give the highest quality title insurance and closing services to our customers.

Throughout the years, Chicago Title has grown in stature with a solid reputation for integrity and standing the test of time. In 1920 the scope of the Company’s business extended beyond Cook County, Illinois where it started in 1847. In the late 1940s, Chicago Title moved to 111 W.
